Register for the Dutch Club Match and the “Day For Young Dogs”

Every year the Dutch Old English Sheepdog Club organizes the Champion Club Match. This year it will take place on Sunday May 6 and again they chose for the location near Zaltbommel.

Of course there is also a double CAC to achieve and with the World Dog Show this summer in Holland, it is also very interesting for foreign exhibitors to gain the Dutch championship.

This year one thing is different at the Club Match. For many years it was the tradition to invite a judge from the UK. But as with many other breed clubs, the number of registrations for the Club Match is decreasing. The travel costs of the judge, housing and other facilities can not be covered by the registration fees. Then there are also the costs for the exhibition area and everything else. This year the Dutch Club has an other solution. Following the idea of the Belgium Club they decided to invite a well known judge from Belgium. Mr. F. Declercq is no stranger to our beloved breed because he also had Old English Sheepdogs himself.

For the last years the Club Match has been combined with the “Young Dogs Day”. This is a friendly show where people can have a little introduction into the show ring. Many people like to meet the brothers and sisters of their dog. “The atmosphere is always excellent,” says Rosita Guerand. Unexperienced people do not have to be afraid that they are alone, because there are always people who want to help.

“The Judge for the Young Dogs Day has been chosen because he writes very detailed show reports and gives the dogs and owners all the attention they need. If you want to know what a judge thinks of your Bob I can advise you to register for this show”, according to an enthusiastic Rosita.
